Mrs. Romana Matanovac Vučković joins us!
We are happy to welcome Mrs. Romana Matanovac Vučković to our team. Mrs. Matanovac Vučković holds a PhD and is a Patent and Trade Mark Attorney, a Law Lecturer and one of the leading intellectual property experts in the Republic of Croatia.
Romana has over 20 years of experience in the intellectual property field and is an Associate Professor at the Civil Law Department at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, Croatia. A published author and a professor, Romana is the Head of Postgraduate Specialist Interdisciplinary Study – Intellectual Property, at the University of Zagreb, where she teaches several subjects. Her contribution to the intellectual property field extends to participation in negotiations of the Republic of Croatia with the EU for the Chapter 7 – Intellectual Property. She was also a Deputy Director General of the State Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Croatia, President of the Council of Experts for Copyright and President of the Boards of Appeal in the Field of Industrial Property.
Her first position as a lawyer was in the collective management organisation for music copyright in Croatia (HDS ZAMP). Romana is an international expert in the area of copyright, in particular, in collective management. Her extensive cooperation with WIPO as an international expert provides for drafting strategies in developing intellectual property systems in several countries. She also participates in many projects of technical assistance in the field of intellectual property, funded by the EU and the World Bank.
Romana previously drafted several laws and bylaws in the field of industrial property and has extensive experience in drafting legal opinions and comparative analysis of laws and legal regulations. Currently, as a part of the working group, she is preparing a new Law on Copyright and Related Rights in the Republic of Croatia.
